Lately between work, travel, and now with the kids back in school it’s been harder to stay on top of ‘me time’ and what you would call keeping the tool sharp. As en entrepreneur, I’ve learned that it is always important to be continually learning and improving. Audible makes it so easy to learn and take in new things with what little time we have to spare throughout the day. It’s been nice to listen to different books while driving to work or even at the gym.
My wife and I have been listening to The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and in one weekend we filled up 18 black garbage bags of items we didn’t need but had been moving from house to house with us every time we moved over the last 5 years. It felt great to declutter and de-junk everywhere. Like most, it seems like our days get more and more busy and we don’t have time to really focus on ourselves at all, so awhile back I decided as soon as I wake up and before I check my emails and social media in the mornings I would listen to ten to fifteen minutes of Audible to feel inspired and motivated for the day. It’s been great. They have a Channels feature that has a lot of original and exclusive content in shorter formats so it makes it easy to listen to for just those few minutes you find time for here and there. Most of the stuff I listen to is business-related but are also short six to ten minute segments that I am able to take with me throughout the day. Channels is free to Audible members but you can also get access with a 30-day free trial here to start checking out some good channels to keep you motivated throughout the day.
Thanks for following.

For those of you looking to travel through the great islands of Greece here are some things you’ll want to know. The first few days felt like a dream. I saw some of the best views I had ever seen. Below are some helpful hints to make sure you get the most out of your stay.
Accommodations: Normally I would say crash anywhere and spend your time exploring, but that’s not the case for Santorini. It’s very warm and humid so I would recommend making sure you have access to a pool or plan most of your day around the water. There are some really cool towns like Fira and Oia to explore but if you don’t stay cool you’re going to burn out quick and there goes your nights.
Food: Restaurants everywhere, but if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy towns check out Da Vinci Italian restaurant just above Fira. It had some of the best margherita pizza I’ve ever had, plus if you stay close they deliver to you so you can eat and watch the sunset from your own place. If you’re not looking to break the bank or traveling on a budget, you’ll find a good gyro in many places – one that we like is Yogi Gyro in Fira.
Transportation: We were told a couple times to just take a taxi, but after the first taxi ride to our hotel we realized it would start to add up so we rented a car. It was great and we were able to explore different parts of the island. The driving is more aggressive and the roads are tight but it made the driving experience even better – I felt like a race car driver the whole time.
Activities: Along with the views of the ocean from the city you can also see some amazing views by boat. I would recommend this to everyone it was one of the coolest things we did: for around 115 euros you can take a sunset cruise around the island and also see surrounding islands. The tour lasts around 5 hours and during the tour the staff cooks dinner. The dinner is actually really good and you’re with 7 to 10 other people on the boat so it makes it nice to see where everyone is from. You’ll have two options sunset or morning tour make sure to do the sunset, you won’t regret it.
When it comes to summer, it’s all about soaking up every moment and making the most of every weekend. That means you make your weekend stretch; it doesn’t end Sunday evening it ends at Monday morning when you show up to the office. Instead of cutting a trip short by a day to give you time to settle back into your routine, keep your momentum high and make it an easy transition from your weekend getaway to the office.
Once you change that mentality you realize just how much you can fit into a last minute getaway. When it comes to packing,Swissgear has cool products to make the transition easy, from accessories to travel staples like backpacks and suitcases. For a quick last minute summer weekend escape, all you really need is a backpack but it has to be something that can fit all your travel essentials and still sleek enough to work for the 9-to-5 grind. This one from Swissgear is great because you don’t have to remove your laptop when you go through security so you can breeze through security and it’s polished enough you can take it straight to the office. Or for something lightweight to carry through the city or exploring wherever your weekend takes you, this one is really comfortable and the perfect size. Swissgear also has the perfect bags if you are packing for a longer trip – this is a great option for luggage under $100. Stay sharp for the office by packing a short sleeve button down and lightweight suit jacket that travels well and an polished oxford or leather boot. These pieces double for a nice dinner out over the weekend and make an easy transition for work on Monday morning.
