Our stay at the Four Seasons Oahu was one for the books. I wanted to share 7 perks from staying at the resort and our 1 regret:
Striking a balance. When it comes to family vacations, it’s all about striking the right balance. There’s a good variety of activities for both adults and kids so it makes it easy to find the balance.
Guy time. Break away early morning with the in-laws and unless to play some golf. It’s an easy way to hang out with the guys and have a good time. Up top, next to the Four Seasons Oahu there was a world renowned golf course with a shuttle to and from the resort.
Surfing. This was the trip I finally learned to actually surf. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and the cool thing is I had Wes, my 7 year old, out on the board with me.
Kids’ Zone. With video games, crafts, and other kids, the kids would stay there all day if I let them.
Splash Zone. The pool area was a big hit for everyone. The food was really reasonably priced and had amazing pina coladas.
Staying active. There was a nice gym and outdoor turf fields along with basketball and tennis courts so there was no excuse not to get your workout in for the day.
Convenience. The ease of not having to go anywhere once you get to the resort is a big win. From boogie boards and paddle boards to snow cones on the beach for me and kids, we really didn’t want to leave.
Biggest regret: my in-laws extended their stay a bit longer than us and when we got home we kept asking ourselves why we didn’t do the same. It’s one of those places that make you never want to leave.
With Valentine’s right around the corner, it’s time to start planning. Winging it might work for most nights of the year, but on February 14th you have to have a game plan, from your date to your gift to your look. Here are 3 V-day ready looks that will impress her:
| ADD A BLAZER | : With Valentine’s on a Tuesday, chances are you’ll be heading out straight from the office but still need to dress the part. Throw a nice blazer in your car and you can transform your button down and slacks for a night out with your girl.
| A CLASSIC JACKET | : Don’t drop the ball when it comes to your outerwear. A classic peacoat is a great coat that works with anything, from a sweater and sneakers to a nice suit. For an edgier look, you can’t go wrong with a leather jacket over your outfit.
| SUIT UP | : If you really want to impress, find an activity or event that gives you both an excuse to really dress up. Even if it’s just dinner at a nice restaurant, dressing up in your best suit and giving her a reason to pull out a great dress helps create a certain mood that is always welcome on Valentine’s Day.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s time to start thinking about something for her that will keep her on her toes. Here are 4 cool gift ideas she will never forget.
Tickets to that concert she’s been dying to see. An experience is something you can never replace, and tickets to see her favorite artist when they come to town (or better yet, to a city she loves for a cool getaway) is one gift she’ll always remember.
Flowers can never get old as a gift. It may be the surprise that their expecting during Valentine’s but it’s the gift she will always love.
To really make it a Valentine’s to remember, go the extra mile and get her that puppy she’s been hinting about. You won’t be able to hold out forever, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to make it a gift to remember.
From now until Sunday, you can cross jewelry and flowers off your list at once. Send a bouquet of flowers to your girl from The Bouqs when you make a qualifying purchase – nothing keeps her on her toes like two home run gifts.
